Stainless Steel Double-Side Lapping Machine: How Does Synchronous Double-Side Processing Achieve Balanced Machining on Both Sides of Stainless Steel Thin Plates?
2026-09-11527

Stainless steel thin plates, thin sheet components and sealing gaskets require flat, high-gloss surfaces on both sides. The traditional single-side lapping process requires workpiece flipping and re-clamping after one-side machining, which causes positioning deviation during secondary alignment. Thin plates are prone to warpage under pressure, making it difficult to maintain consistent roughness and gloss on both surfaces. Repeated flipping operations extend the processing cycle. In mass production, material removal often becomes excessive on one side and insufficient on the other, resulting in significant fluctuations in finished product quality.
The Stainless Steel Double-Side Lapping Machine adopts synchronously moving upper and lower lapping discs. Workpieces only need one-time clamping to complete synchronous material removal and polishing on both surfaces. The equipment features closed-loop control of pressure and rotating speed to ensure balanced material removal on the upper and lower sides, eliminating intermediate flipping and re-clamping procedures and avoiding precision deviation caused by secondary positioning. Since stainless steel tends to accumulate heat during machining, the machine is equipped with a circulating cooling structure to lower the workpiece surface temperature and prevent discoloration and oxidation burn marks.
